Simple Stretching Routine to Try
Here’s a quick and easy stretching routine you can do anywhere, anytime:
1. Neck Stretch
Sit or stand comfortably.
Slowly tilt your head towards your right shoulder, holding for 15-30 seconds.
Repeat on the left side.
2. Shoulder Stretch
Extend your right arm across your body.
Use your left hand to gently pull your right arm towards your chest.
Hold for 15-30 seconds and switch sides.
3. Chest Opener
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart.
Clasp your hands behind your back and gently lift them, opening your chest.
Hold for 15-30 seconds.
4. Cat-Cow Stretch
Start on your hands and knees in a tabletop position.
Arch your back (cow pose) as you inhale, and round your back (cat pose) as you exhale.
Repeat for 5-10 breaths.
5. Forward Fold
Stand with feet hip-width apart.
Hinge at your hips and reach towards the ground, keeping a slight bend in your knees.
Hold for 15-30 seconds, feeling the stretch in your hamstrings and lower back.
Tips for Effective Stretching
Warm Up First: Stretch after a brief warm-up or at the end of your workout to prevent injury.
Breathe Deeply: Focus on your breath, inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly to enhance relaxation.
